British Airways customers eligible to travel to India under the current restrictions can now upload their negative COVID-19 PCR reports, along with other declaration forms, on the airline's website prior to travel.
Right now, this is a trial run that is only for people travelling from London to India.
Eligible customers will be directed to the official website of British Airways through an email, received 72 hours before departure. On the portal &lsquoManage My Booking&rsquo they can fill all the necessary requirements and also upload their documents. After uploading, they will receive an email through which the airlines certifies them as fit to travel, within the next six hours, ensuring that they meet all the entry requirements.
Once the trial is over, and allkinks ironed out, the airlines will roll this functionality to a wider spectrum, adding the facility to even more destinations.
This facility would also be available for passengers on the British Airways app. Passengers can then go to airport and check-in hassle free as they will have uploaded the required documents online on their smartphones.

&ldquoWe are already offering access to travel app &lsquoveriFLY&rsquo on selected routes and IAG has been helping develop &lsquoTravel Pass&rsquo with data. Now it&rsquos also time to look at what we can offer through our own website. The key benefit to customers being able to upload the correct travel documentation into their booking, is that it enables them to check-in online, speeding up the airport process&rdquo he added.
