Now with the intention of promoting border tourism and offering unique experiences in North Kashmir's Kupwara district, the Army has joined forces with Himachal Pradesh's Paragliding Association Birbling Kangra. Together, they are introducing paragliding in the picturesque village of Kalaroos, renowned for its enigmatic caves that, according to folklore, harbour secret tunnels leading to Russia. While the tales of the caves, once known as Qila-e-Roos or Russian Fort, may have faded over time, the allure of paragliding is set to captivate tourists seeking offbeat destinations in Kashmir. Kalaroos is poised to become the next sought-after haven for those yearning to soar to new heights, embrace the sky as their playground, and let their wings carry them wherever their hearts desire.

The Kupwara district, with its untapped potential for adventure tourism, holds the key to bolstering the local economy and creating employment opportunities.
