Nainitals Launching a Winter Carnival

The carnival spans a number of places across the hill station

Nainital is in the middle of hosting its 2020 Winter Carnival in a bid to revive its tourism sector. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council and Nainital District Administration kickstarted preparations earlier this month, and selected a number of areas spanning the city for the five-day festival.

According to reports, Sataal, Bhimtal, Kotabagh, and Pangot are a few places headlining the carnival. People can indulge in activities ranging from bird-watching, village-touring, and wall-painting. Those with more of an adventure streak can choose from kayaking, paragliding, boating, para-motoring, hot air balloon rides, ATV rally, MTB rally, trekking, zip-lining, and rock-climbing. Flower shows and heritage walks are included as well.

Sataal and Pangot will host bird-watching workshops, while Kotabagh and Bhimtal will organise the rest of the aforementioned activities paragliding competitions being of primary focus in Kotabagh, and flower shows, wall painting, and boat races taking centrestage in Bhimtal.

Nainital will lead boat-decorations, a half marathon, and astro-photography.
