British Airways Launches Platform For Climate Control

British Airways introduces new climate control platform for companies to mitigate their carbon emissions from business flying

With the growing focus on reducing carbon footprint while travelling, British Airways is launching a special tool for corporate travellers which will contribute to emission management. According to the airline, it is committed to achieve net zero carbon emission by 2020.

According to a release from British Airways, companies will be able to measure, reduce and manage carbon emissions associated with their business-related flying on the airline&rsquos &lsquoCO2llaborative&rsquo platform. The dashboard accessible to customers will show the carbon di oxide emissions generated from the business travel on a monthly basis. Companies will be able to select specific climate solutions to mitigate their carbon emissions. The solutions range from purchasing (sustainable aviation fuel) SAF to contributing to certified carbon offsetting projects.

The airlines is introducing this new platform in partnership with climate tech company CHOOOSE.

The airlines, over the past couple of years, have been working on various programmes which will have a positive impact on climate control measures. These include offsetting carbon emission on all its flights, within the United Kingdom. The airlines will offset the carbon emission by these fliers by investing in certified carbon reduction projects around the world, especially those working in areas of renewable energy, protection of rainforests and reforestation programmes. In a release, the company said that they have been investing in fuel efficient aircraft, development of sustainable aviation fuel, etc.
