Ugadi Pachadi Recipe

Ugadi Pachadi by Ghewar South Place

Ingredients:

  • Tamarind (or pulp): 300 gms

  • Water: 500 ml

  • Chopped jaggery: 1 cup

  • Water: 2 cups

  • Raw mango: 1 cup, finely chopped

  • Neem flowers: As required

  • Black pepper powder (or red chilli powder): ¼ teaspoon

  • Salt: ¼ teaspoon (adjust as needed)

Method:

  • Soak tamarind in 500 ml of water for 40 minutes to one hour. Extract the pulp, and set aside.

  • Add two cups of water to the tamarind pulp and dissolve the chopped jaggery.

  • Add finely chopped raw mango and optional ingredients like bananas, roasted chana dal, dry fruits, and coconut.

  • Stir in neem flowers and sprinkle black pepper powder or red chilli powder.

  • Season with salt and mix well.

  • Offer as naivedyam before serving.
