Two decades ago, on the edge of Lantau Island's green hills, a dream opened its gates, and changed Hong Kong's tourism landscape forever. Hong Kong Disneyland isn't just a theme park; it's a living memory book for generations of families, a world where languages, cultures, and ages blur in the face of one universal truth: magic is real.

Now, 20 years after welcoming its first guests, the park is celebrating its most ambitious year yet: a vibrant, immersive party designed to dazzle new visitors and lifelong Disney fans alike. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, this milestone year promises more wonder, characters, surprises, and a deeper connection to the spirit of Disney than ever before.

And what better time to visit than summer? When the city itself comes alive, and Hong Kong Disneyland leads the celebration with a calendar packed with experiences, exclusive merchandise and dazzling shows.

A New Era Of Entertainment

The 20th anniversary brings a trio of fresh, high-energy experiences that form the heart of the "Most Magical Party of All." Begin your day with Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle!—a 15-minute concert-style performance featuring stunning LED visuals, three original songs (including the new anniversary anthem), and surprise appearances from classic Disney friends and princesses in brand-new party attire.

Then, there's Friendtastic!—HKDL's largest parade to date. A two-year labour of love, this 30-minute spectacle rolls out 11 floats inspired by Disney and Pixar favourites, including Encanto, Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Turning Red, and Inside Out. Over 100 performers and more than 30 characters (including debut appearances) fill the park with colour, music, and kinetic joy.

When night falls, don't miss Momentous: Party in the Night Sky, an enhanced version of the fan-favourite nighttime show. Extended projections down Main Street, U.S.A., dancing water fountains, drone displays, lasers, and fireworks combine for a 360-degree experience that ends the day with true Disney flair.

Disney Delights Beyond The Shows

A visit to Hong Kong Disneyland isn't just about shows and parades. Over 80 brand-new food and drink options have debuted for the anniversary. Think rainbow-hued cotton candy, themed party beverages, and indulgent desserts available throughout the park and resort hotels.

Shopping gets a magical makeover too, with over 300 new merchandise items across six themed collections, available at park stores and Disney hotels. From glittering Minnie ears to limited-edition plush toys, you'll find something that speaks to the collector in you.

And yes, your favourite Disney characters are dressed for the occasion. Mickey, Minnie, Duffy and Friends have all donned dazzling 20th-anniversary outfits and can be spotted around the park, from the Town Square gazebo to Fantasy Gardens and the new Duffy and Friends Play House.

All-Day Fun That Doesn't Stop At The Park Gates

The celebration spills over into all three of HKDL's themed hotels—Disney Explorers Lodge, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, and Disney's Hollywood Hotel—where guests can participate in creative workshops, latte art sessions, and other special 20th-anniversary-themed activities. The décor, from lobby installations to room gifts, is on-theme too, offering a seamless experience from check-in to check-out.

Visitors who spend HK$100 or more at designated stores can also redeem a limited-edition postcard

For guests seeking the ultimate keepsake, the park is also offering complimentary digital party photos captured by Disney PhotoPass, along with a special greeting card from beloved Disney characters. Visitors who spend HK$100 or more at designated stores can also redeem a limited-edition postcard, perfect for sending a little magic to someone back home.
