Your visits to Uttar Pradesh will be enhanced in the near future by guided tours given by local youth who have significant local expertise. Uttar Pradesh is planning to establish 'Youth Tourism Clubs' to provide guided cultural experiences at popular tourist spots.
The Uttar Pradesh government is establishing 'Youth Tourism Clubs' comprised of teachers and students from educational institutions to advise tourists and help them become acquainted with the state's cultural and historical attractions. Each group founded by the District Tourism and Culture Council includes at least 25 students and two teachers. Members of the group, dubbed 'Paryatan Mitra' (tourism friend), would operate entirely on a volunteer basis and would be educated on tourist attractions and their history. They would work for free and be educated about tourist attractions and their history. Visitors would be given information about tourist attractions and the convenience of amenities by club members. They would also inspect tourist destinations for points of assistance, hygiene, and safety.
According to Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, UP, this is an effective initiative to use the power of the youth to promote tourism. The department has developed over 1,500 youth tourism clubs. The procedure of designating tourist friends is currently underway on a big scale. Members of these groups will organise photography contests, selfie contests, bike tours, heritage walks, and local tours for the government.
Aside from that, activities such as essay writing, quizzes, painting, poster making, acting, theatrical adaptation, debate, awareness campaign, discussion, community contact, cultural programmes, etc., will be held. Paryatan Mitras will be stationed at tourist destinations near them to assist tourists visiting the state.
According to PTI, educational institutions will give assistance only once a year. Rohit Singh, a Class 12 student and tourism friend of Gorakhpur's Piprauli development block, told PTI that to guide tourists, he is reading about the historical and mythological places of his district systematically to explain them better to tourists.
