There has been an increase in vehicular density post COVID-19 lockdown relaxations&nbspat the Nagarahole National Park and Tiger Reserve Range. This has&nbspresulted in an increase in the number of deaths of wild animals. The forest department officials have once again introduced the &lsquoTime Ticket&rsquo system that aims to restrict vehicular movement on the roads coming under this area. The staff on patrol duty have often seen visitors creating a nuisance and indulging in illegal activities inside the jungles.

The system was first introduced in 2017 after many animals died due to speeding vehicles, especially during the night.

Now this system will be implemented in a stricter manner because in the post lockdown period, 11 wild animals have lost their lives.

It is being implemented based on the ruling given by the Supreme Court.

The Time Tickets have details of the vehicle on one side and Dos and Don&rsquots on the other for travellers who pass through the forest range.

This ticket will be issued free of cost and will have the name of the driver and the car registration number along with the entry and exit time mentioned on it.

The driver has to cross the exit point of 30kms within the exit time mentioned on the ticket.

The driver will have to pay a heavy fine even if the exit is delayed by a couple of minutes. The first hour of delay will cost Rs 1,000, the second hour will be Rs 2,000, and so on.
