Forts to Wine These 20 Festivals will Celebrate Everything Maharashtra

They will be held across six regions of the state through February and March.

This may be a good time to travel to Maharashtra as the state is all set to host two months of almost back-to-back festivals celebrating its cultural heritage.

The tourism department of Maharashtra has announced 20 small festivals through February and March which will be held across six regions of the state - Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Konkan and Amravati.

The line-up includes the Grape Harvesting Festival in Nashik Nandur Madhyameshwar Festival Kajve Festival in Ahmednagar the Laling Fort Festival in Dhule Junnar Grape Festival in Pune Wai Festival in Satara Panhala Festival in Kolhapur Vengurla Festival in Sindhudurg Anjarle Festival in Ratnagiri Ter Festival in Osmanabad Kapildhara Festival in Beed Hottal Festival in Nanded Sindkhed Raja Festival in Nagpur Narnala Fort Festival in Akola Tipeshwar Forest Festival in Yavatmal Ramtek Festival in Nagpur Bor Dam and Wildlife Festival in Vardha Bodalkasa Bird Festival in Gordia. 

Each festival will have a host of events. For instance, the Junnar Grape Festival (being held from February 19 to 21) at Drakshgram in Golegaon will include visits to vineyards, wine tasting sessions, a heritage walk, bird-watching trails, a trek to Naneghat, temple and museum visits, bazaars, campfires and more.
