Vietnam

Vietnam, with its breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and vibrant history, is a country that has long captivated the hearts of Indian travellers. Here's some good news for them. Vietnam is considering granting short-term visa waivers to Indians in order to boost tourism. There is a lot to do in the country. Vietnam's rich and complex history provides a treasure trove of historical sites that provide a fascinating glimpse into the country's past, from ancient temples and imperial citadels to war museums and colonial-era relics. It is also home to well-known islands and pristine beaches.

Goa, the sunny beach paradise of India, is renowned for its pristine coastline, vibrant nightlife, and laid-back atmosphere. And it was the second most popular destination in Google search. While many visitors flock to the popular beaches, there's a world of offbeat experiences awaiting those who seek something unique during their Goa trip. In October this year, it was announced that Goa will soon have a new homestay policy to take travellers beyond its beaches. The policy is part of a broader strategy to position the coastal state as a year-round destination that extends beyond its famous beaches. The state also hosted the inaugural edition of the Indian Lighthouse Festival at Fort Aguada in September. This unique festival is dedicated to transforming historical lighthouses into tourist destinations by fostering public-private partnerships (PPP).

Bali

Bali, the Island of the Gods, is a tropical paradise that offers a perfect blend of rich culture, landscapes, and vibrant nightlife. If you are already planning your holidays next year, there's a solid reason why you must have your eyes set on Bali. Premier airline carrier Vistara announced on December 1 that it has launched direct flights between Delhi and Bali.

Sri Lanka, often called the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean," is renowned for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. In a move to rejuvenate Sri Lanka's ailing tourism industry, the Sri Lankan Cabinet announced in October that travellers from India will be given free tourist visas. Historically, India has been Sri Lanka's foremost source of inbound tourism. Recent statistics substantiate this, with the September arrival figures showing India leading the pack with over 30,000 arrivals, accounting for a substantial 26 per cent of total arrivals. China followed as the second-largest group with more than 8,000 arrivals.

Thailand, a popular travel hotspot for Indians, is celebrated for its beaches, cuisine, and vibrant cities. Thailand has temporarily removed visa requirements for travellers from India, and starting November 10, Indian citizens can visit the island nation for up to 30 days without a visa. This visa-free access is available from November 10, 2023, to May 10, 2024. While places like Phuket and Pattaya have long been tourist magnets, the issue of overcrowding, as highlighted in a recent survey, is leading travellers to seek peaceful alternatives.
