Budget airline IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights to Fujairah from Mumbai and Kannur, bolstering its presence in the United Arab Emirates. The new daily services, commencing May 15 and 16, will provide travellers with increased connectivity to the emirate, marking IndiGo's fifth destination in the UAE.

The airline's expansion includes dedicated bus services to and from Dubai and Sharjah, catering to the significant travel demand between these major cities and Fujairah. This move complements its existing routes to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah, further solidifying its position as a key player in the India-UAE aviation sector.

"We are pleased to announce the launch of daily direct flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah, a hidden gem in the UAE that's rich in natural beauty and economic potential," said Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo. "With its growing importance in trade, logistics, and tourism, we are confident that these new flights will further enhance regional connectivity."

In addition to the Fujairah launch, IndiGo has also inaugurated flights to Krabi, Thailand, and announced upcoming services to Amsterdam and Manchester, UK. With a domestic network spanning over 90 destinations in India and a growing international presence, IndiGo now connects travellers to 132 destinations worldwide. The airline's focus on budget-friendly fares and extensive connectivity continues to drive its growth in the competitive aviation market.

Where Is Fujairah?

Fujairah is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, uniquely located on the country’s eastern coast along the Gulf of Oman, unlike its neighbours which face the Persian Gulf. Rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty, Fujairah is about 120 km from Dubai, making it an accessible yet offbeat destination for travellers seeking new experiences.

What To Do In Fujairah?

Fujairah offers a mix of history, nature, and adventure. Start with the 17th-century Fujairah Fort and the ancient Al Bidya Mosque, the oldest in the country. Relax on its serene beaches or dive into the Gulf of Oman’s vibrant coral reefs near Snoopy Island. The rugged Hajar Mountains are perfect for hiking and off-road exploration, while resort spas provide tranquil escapes. For a cultural fix, visit the Fujairah Museum or browse local treasures at the lively Friday Market. With its laid-back charm and scenic landscapes, Fujairah is ideal for travellers seeking a quieter UAE experience.

What Is The Best Time To Visit Fujairah?

The best time to visit Fujairah is between October and April, when the weather is pleasantly cool, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C. This is ideal for outdoor activities like beach outings, mountain hikes, and diving. The cooler months also see less humidity compared to the rest of the UAE, making it more comfortable for sightseeing and exploration. Summers (May to September) can be extremely hot and humid, with temperatures soaring above 40°C, so it's best to avoid travel during this period unless you're planning a resort-based stay focused on indoor relaxation.
