As the coronavirus lockdown eases and people get vaccinated, governments all over the world are making efforts to revive the economy.

A digital pass has been recently issued by the European Commission with the aim that it would encourage people to travel cross-borders safely.

The digital pass would make travelling safer, as authorities will come to know whether the traveller has been vaccinated, or has been tested positive or negative.

Not just this, but the digital health pass would also have recent medical records of whether the traveller had been infected with the virus or not and if he/she has been recovered.

Ursula Von der Leyen, the President of the European Union, had recently tweeted that she would be proposing information on the Digital Green Pass soon.

She mentioned that this pass would also respect the privacy of users, and ensure data protection and security.

More details on this should be available by March 17. The Digital Green Pass would be valid for travel across European Union member nations.

However, it is not yet clear if this pass is compulsory.
