Sec 144 is in place in Maharashtra
As Maharashtra struggles with increasing number of cases in the second Covid-19 wave, the state government has announced several curfew-like restrictions on public movement.
These will be implemented from 8pm, April 14 till 7am on May 1. Sec 144 will be in place, prohibiting the assembly of five or more people at one spot. No one will be allowed to move in public place without valid reasons.
A night curfew will be in place wherein citizens can&rsquot step out from 8pm to 7am, without a valid reason. Only essential and emergency services are exempt from all restrictions through the week.
All establishments, public places, activities, services shall remain closed. This however exempts essential services. The state government has also instructed that all vehicles have to be sanitised after every trip.
And all public transport &ndash drivers and other staff coming into contact with the public to get vaccinated at the earliest, as per criteria of Government of India (GOI).
Apart from this, all airline travellers have to note that passengers from Maharashtra flying to Delhi will need a negative RT-PCR report (not older than 72 hours before departure). Those not carrying a negative report will have to undergo 14-day quarantine.
This was announced by budget carriers IndiGo and SpiceJet on Twitter.
Moreover, passengers arriving from any city in Maharashtra will also have to provide RT-PCR negative report from ICMR accredited labs done within the last 72 hours.
