The Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the most significant spiritual gatherings in the world, attracting millions of pilgrims, ascetics, and tourists. This grand event takes place once every 12 years at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Steeped in mythology and spiritual significance, the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is set to be a monumental occasion, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in faith, rituals, and cultural festivities.

If you plan to travel to the Kumbh Mela in 2025, there's some excellent news. Indian Railways has made extensive arrangements for pilgrims visiting the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, earlier known as Allahabad. In addition to introducing 13,000 special trains, the national transporter has recently announced a digital initiative to ensure the convenience of visitors arriving in the holy city.

The Prayagraj division of North Central Railway is taking a bold step into the future by launching an exciting initiative that makes ticketing easier than ever through technology. Here’s how it will work:

During the Mahakumbh, specially trained railway personnel from the Commercial Department will be stationed at Prayagraj Junction and other key locations. They will be easily identifiable by their distinctive green jackets, which feature a QR code on the back.

You can scan this QR code using your smartphone to download the UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System) mobile app. This app allows you to easily book unreserved tickets, eliminating the hassle of waiting in long queues and ensuring a more enjoyable journey.

This innovative initiative aims to significantly reduce crowding at railway stations, allowing pilgrims to easily purchase tickets. By incorporating digital payment options, we ensure a quick and hassle-free experience for the millions of devotees expected to attend the Mahakumbh.

Railway staff, dressed in distinct green jackets, will be stationed at railway platforms and key locations to assist pilgrims with ticket bookings and provide essential guidance. By simply scanning the QR code, passengers will be directed to the UTS app, where they can access various features and services, making their journey smoother from the beginning.
