
Kerala Tourism shines bright on the global stage, securing two prestigious awards at the Golden City Gate Awards 2025 during ITB Berlin, the world's largest travel trade show. The state tourism board received the Silver Star in the Campaign International category for its innovative "Come Together in Kerala" marketing campaign, and the Excellent Award in the Music International category for its music video, "Shubha Mangalyam – Weddings in Kerala."
The awards were presented by Wolfgang Jo Huschert, President of the Jury of the Golden City Gate Award, to Vishnuraj P., Additional Director (General) of Kerala Tourism, at a ceremony in Berlin.
The "Come Together in Kerala" campaign, designed to encourage urban families to reconnect amidst Kerala's serene landscapes, resonated deeply with audiences. Utilising a multi-platform approach, including print, digital, radio, and social media, the campaign effectively positioned Kerala as the quintessential family getaway. The campaign's emotional storytelling, exemplified by videos like "Yeh Dooriyan" and "Saath Saath," coupled with vibrant print advertisements, highlighted the state's diverse experiences.
"The prestigious awards are a solid reaffirmation of Kerala Tourism’s continued efforts to launch marketing campaigns of international standards," said Tourism Minister Shri P A Mohammed Riyas in an official press release by the state tourism. "The fact is the ‘Come Together in Kerala’ campaign, a signpost of creative brilliance, played a significant role in record-breaking domestic tourist arrivals in 2023, vindicating its status as a top travel destination."
The "Shubha Mangalyam – Weddings in Kerala" music video, lauded for its ability to showcase Kerala as an ideal wedding destination, also garnered significant acclaim. The three-and-a-half-minute video, featuring a melodious blend of Western pop and Indian classical music by renowned Indian-American singer Vidya Vox, portrays a non-Malayali couple celebrating their wedding in Kerala.
Featuring lyrics in English, Hindi, and Malayalam, the video has garnered over a million views on YouTube within two months of its launch, demonstrating Kerala's irresistible appeal to couples seeking a memorable wedding or honeymoon. Shot against the stunning backdrops of Alappuzha backwaters, Vagamon hills, and Marari beach, the video's catchy melody and spectacular visuals have also captivated audiences on other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X.
