Following the Indian Armed Forces' Operation Sindoor, Air India and Air India Express have provided extensive travel discounts for military personnel. For military personnel with defence fare tickets, Air India and its subsidiary, Air India Express, are providing complete reimbursements for cancellations and a one-time waiver of rescheduling fees.
The rescheduling waiver is applicable for modifications made up until June 30, 2025, and this policy is applicable to reservations made on or before May 31, 2025. The program is intended to support military personnel's duty obligations throughout ongoing national security operations.
Defence personnel seeking to avail themselves of these benefits can do so through the respective customer support channels of Air India and Air India Express. For Air India flights, personnel can visit the Air India Defence Support Portal. For Air India Express flights, assistance is available via the airline's chatbot service at +91 63600 12345.
Further, the Air India Group thanked India's military and defence personnel for their selfless service and dedication in a statement posted on social media. By offering flexible travel alternatives during this crucial period, the airlines highlighted their dedication to supporting the armed personnel.
