Our Story
Over the last 10 years, we at the Outlook Responsible Tourism Initiative have been celebrating an alternative imagination of travel that is both people- and earth-friendly. We aim to recognise, celebrate and empower the individuals and organisations that are doing extraordinary work, often in the face of adversity, to future-proof travel by embracing sustainability and climate-friendly practices, while making our journeys and experiences joyful and easy on the planet.
ORTA Culture and Heritage
In our 10th year of celebrating people and celebrating India at the Outlook Responsible Tourism Initiative, we ask ourselves the question – what truly sets apart India from other destinations? The epitome of the world geographically, what binds our nation together through our history and diversity, is our culture and heritage. This is what makes us unique as a country and as a people.
We are delighted to announce the launch of the Outlook Responsible Tourism Culture and Heritage Awards this year in the State of Kerala. We will celebrate people who are painstakingly preserving, restoring, protecting and revitalising the tangible and intangible culture and heritage of our country through nine categories of awards. God’s own country celebrates nature, culture and artforms from time immemorial and we can think of no better place than the State of Kerala to host the first edition of these awards.
