Sikkim is a destination with unspoiled landscapes, lush green valleys, and a rich cultural heritage in the heart of the Himalayan mountains. This region offers a variety of exciting activities, such as trekking and mountaineering, as well as the chance to immerse oneself in the vibrant culture through its colourful festivals and deep-rooted Buddhist traditions.

Day 1: Arrival in Gangtok


Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, head directly to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. After checking in to your hotel and freshening up, you can enjoy a hearty breakfast at a local eatery.

Visit Enchey Monastery, a serene Buddhist monastery located on a hilltop. Explore the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to learn about Tibetan culture, history, and religion. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Sikkimese restaurant.

Stroll along MG Marg, Gangtok's main promenade, lined with shops, cafes, and souvenir stalls. Experience the vibrant atmosphere, enjoy Sikkimese cuisine for dinner, and rest at your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Exploring Gangtok


Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then visit the Rumtek Monastery, one of Sikkim's largest and most significant monasteries. Later, explore the picturesque Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park.

Enjoy a traditional Sikkimese lunch. Head to Tashi Viewpoint for panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas and the surrounding valleys. Visit Ganesh Tok, a small temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha.

For an enjoyable evening, head back to MG Marg. Treat yourself to some delicious street food and explore Gangtok's nightlife if interested. Then, have dinner at a recommended restaurant before returning for an overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 3: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir


Start the day with an early breakfast at the hotel, followed by a drive to Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake situated at an altitude of 12,313 feet. You can spend some time enjoying the serene surroundings and indulge in optional activities such as yak rides.

Visit Baba Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier of the Indian Army. Have lunch at a local restaurant near Baba Mandir.

Return to Gangtok for leisure time to shop or relax at the hotel, followed by dinner at a local restaurant and an overnight stay. Sikkim has a vibrant culinary spectrum, including thukpa, phagshapa, gundruk and more.

Day 4: Day Trip to Pelling


Check out of the hotel in Gangtok and depart for Pelling, a charming town known for its views of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga range, the world's third-highest peak, after an early breakfast.

Discover the ancient capital of Sikkim at Rabdentse Ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in the region.

Upon arrival in Pelling, check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Relax and take in the serene ambience of the area during your overnight stay.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Pelling and Departure


Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then visit the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, known for fulfilling wishes, and explore the stunning Kanchenjunga Falls.

Take a break at a local eatery and then visit Sanga Choeling Monastery, established in 1697 by Lama Lhatsun Chempo, one of Sikkim's oldest monasteries.

Take a leisurely stroll and reflect on your trip. Don't forget to buy souvenirs or authentic tea from a plantation before departing for Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, where you will continue your onward travels.
