Day 1: Mukteshwar


Start your day with a hearty breakfast at a local eatery and try local delicacies like aaloo ke gutke, kumaoni raita, and more. After breakfast, head to Mukteshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and enjoy serene surroundings and beautiful views of the Himalayas.

For lunch, try some traditional Kumaoni cuisine at a local restaurant. A must-try dish is bhatt ki churdkani. After lunch, you can head to Chauli ki Jali, a natural rock formation with a stunning view of the valleys below. This spot is famous for adventure activities such as rock climbing and rappelling.

Take some time to unwind and relax during your stay by enjoying a peaceful evening at your accommodation. For dinner, treat yourself to a meal of locally caught trout fish or a chicken curry prepared in the traditional Kumaoni style at one of the nearby restaurants.

Day 2: Nainital


Leave Mukteshwar early and head to Nainital, situated just 48 km away. Have breakfast en route or upon arrival. Try the classic hilly snack of momos or chai with maggi at a stall. Once in Nainital, take a boat ride on Naini Lake for scenic views.

Enjoy lunch at a lakeside restaurant serving local and continental cuisine. Don't miss Bal Mithai, a popular local delicacy of roasted khoya and white sugar balls. Later, visit Naina Devi Temple on the northern shore of Naini Lake for panoramic views of the lake and town.

Towards the end of your day and trip, explore Mall Road for souvenirs, woollens and handicrafts. Bargain for shawls, scarves, and wooden artefacts. Later, head to cafes or restaurants along Mall Road for Tibetan thukpa or North Indian dishes.
